Use of selling flowers

More recently, I wrote an article on this topic: “The Psychology of Color: Which Color Sells? “. If you haven’t read it yet, be sure to do it. In it, you will learn which colors are most effective in selling in certain niches, how color affects the emotional perception of a site user, and how to evoke the desired emotions.

Quality typography

Typography is all about fonts and text. A fashion trend in modern design is the emphasis on typography. Large font sizes in headings and various experiments with the placement of text on the overall composition of the layout can look quite interesting. Still, you should not overuse and use more than 2-3 different typefaces, it is better to choose 1-2 fonts for one project and apply different typefaces where appropriate. Use crisp, legible fonts for body copy.

Usability

How to make a website user-friendly? When developing a layout, imagine yourself in the user’s place. Too complex navigation, poor positioning of content, too large a piece of text without spaces between paragraphs – all this worsens the perception of information and, accordingly, makes it difficult to use your site. The simpler and clearer your interface, the better.

Rule of 2 seconds

It means that if a user visiting the site in the first 2-5 seconds does not understand where he got to and what he needs to do next, he leaves the site. Therefore, when designing, take care to avoid this.

Simplicity and clarity

Simple doesn’t mean boring. The design should help the user understand what the site is about, and its elements should be practically applicable and logically complement the design. Make simple and clear text flow, convenient, thoughtful navigation WEB DESIGN. And if you choose between decoration and simplification, choose the latter.

Less text is better

This principle can be summed up in one simple phrase: “People don’t like to read. Moreover, there is a lot of text. Especially from the screen. ” Of course, if a person needs it, he will read the article from beginning to end, even if it is written in small print and without spaces between paragraphs. But would he want to read your lengthy “About the Company” article on the main page of the site? Unlikely.

Effective first screen

The first screen is the viewing area of the site in the browser without having to scroll down. This is the part of the design that the user will see when they first visit the site. I am categorically against shoving everything that is possible and impossible into the first screen. Moreover, it will still not be possible to guess exactly, since this area is different for each browser WEB DESIGN. But you can determine it approximately and take it into account when developing a layout in order to present your design as effectively and interestingly as possible.

Goal first, design second

Not the other way around. The site, like its design, should pursue a specific goal, whether it be to tell about the company, sell a product or service, or attract subscribers. First, we determine what is the goal of the site, then, based on this, we make a design that helps in achieving this goal.

Target Audience Targeting

Means that you:

a) should know who your target audience is
b) develop a design for her

Who is your audience? Their gender, age, social status, even income level. For example, a website about cosmetics is focused primarily on women from 20 to 45 years old, hence the design should be built: certain colors, design, even text should be selected WEB DESIGN. Knowing your target audience allows you to make the most effective design focused on potential customers.

Correct information architecture

Includes:

  • competent presentation of information
  • knowing what types of content will be used and ranking the content by importance
  • correct structure of information blocks
  • access to important information with a minimum number of clicks

This will improve the perception of information and simplify the use of the site, as well as save time to find the necessary information.
