Are you struggling to recall the life span of Raja Ram Mohan Roya even if you had learned that a day before yesterday(History), or do you have a habit of forgetting things after an hour of reading?

Beef up your remembering efficiency with these three powerful techniques discussed below.

It often happens with students(especially junior students) when they learn chapters, answers, history dates, events, or anything they completely forget after a couple of days.

Last year, a student in class 8 asked me how he could retain the different answers for different chapters for a long time without rote learning.

I simply gave him the three most exciting & powerful learning techniques which we are going to discuss.

Today he cracked the pre-regional mathematic olympiad(pre-RMO) using these techniques.

So before diving deep into the topic, if you are in class 8, you must read NCERT Solution for class 8.

Top 3 Best Learning Techniques

1. Pomodoro Technique

The Pomodoro technique is a highly effective study technique with zero distraction. However, you can use this technique in any work you want to do with high efficiency history dates.

In 1980, a university student named Francesco Cirillo was struggling to complete his assignment, so he promised himself to sit for 10 minutes with intense focus.

While performing this, he found a Pomodoro(Italian name of tomato) shaped kitchen timer, and thus this technique borned.

Steps to use the Pomodoro technique

  • Get a to-do list and a timer.
  • Pick the task you want to do.
  • Set the timer to 25 minutes. Initially, you can start with 15 minutes.
  • Work on the task until the time is up.
  • Take a 5-minute break(don’t do anything).
  • After successfully completing 4 Pomodoro, take a long break of 15-30 minutes.

Note: If you want to complete a complex task or long chapter, then break the big task into small and address each one-by-one.

Understand by example

If you have to solve NCERT Solutions for class 8 science, then break down the chapters and learn the chapters easily using the Pomodoro technique.

2. Mnemonic Technique

It is a great tool to learn unlimited dates and events with great fun. By using different funny patterns, you can memorize anything easily.

Mnemonic techniques are not restricted to some formulas or anything. You can create plenty of Mnemonic according to your sense and intelligence. However, we have picked up the three best techniques you can use.

1. Spelling Mnemonics

Use this mnemonic technique to learn a difficult word with funny patterns.

For example ARITHMETIC

“A rat in the house may eat the ice-cream.”

2. Song Mnemonics

Use the song mnemonics to learn paragraphs, dates or any other difficult things.

For example, Sahajahan built Tajmahal in 1631 in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz this is our history.

Let’s say you love listening to a romantic song, then think of Saha Jahan building a Tajmahal while singing a song, and while doing this, he digs a pit of 16 pits and fills the concrete with 31 kg.

3. Visual Mnemonics

This is a very powerful mnemonic technique of using the power of your subconscious mind.

There are many things saved in your subconscious memory. You can associate the learning material with saved things.

For example, you have to learn the chronology of the Mughal dynasty.

Babur, humayun, akbar, Jahangir, Saha jahan, and Aurungjeb

You can associate these things with saved things like the position of the sofa set, television, kitchen utensil, etc.

Like, Babur is sitting on the sofa and watching his son Humayun playing cricket on TV, etc &, etc.

3. RANCHO Technique

The RANCHO technique is the most effective way of note-making and memorizing things.

Here is the meaning of RANCHO.

R = Read

A = Analyse

N = Note Making

C = Critically Examine

H = Helping

O = Optimizing

  • Read the chapter thoroughly.
  • Analyze the history chapter by yourself and grab the important information from the chapter.
  • Make notes properly. Avoid making paragraph notes. Always prefer to make notes using mind mapping techniques.
  • Examine the chapter critically and touch on every aspect of the chapter.
  • Help others to make them understand the chapter so that your concepts get stronger.
  • The last step is the most crucial. Optimize your content more precisely, convert your long notes into short form, and revise them properly.
